Zusammenfassung

Sport wird nicht in verrauchten Hinterzimmern getrieben. Aber gerade am Tabakrauch lässt sich besonders gut darstellen, wie sehr die Menschen unter dem Gesundheitsaspekt immer auf reine Luft angewiesen sind (Strandberg et al. 2008; Yeh et al. 2010). Denn Tabakqualm ist an vielen Orten die bedeutsamste Noxe der Innenraumluft. Er besteht aus dem Nebenstromrauch der glimmenden Zigarette und dem von Rauchern ausgeatmeten Hauptstromrauch. Diese Luftverschmutzungen enthalten neben Feinstäuben (Kap. 100) mehr als 9000 verschiedene Substanzen, von denen mindestens 250 giftig sind. Über 70 dieser giftigen Inhaltsstoffe sind krebsverursachend (Alexandrov et al. 2016). Die zahlreichen Substanzen können miteinander in Wechselwirkung treten und sich dadurch gegenseitig verstärken. Die große Lungenoberfläche von bis zu 140 m2 fördert nachhaltig die Aufnahme all dieser schädlichen Substanzen.
