Zusammenfassung

Das folgende Kapitel beschäftigt sich mit dem Konzept der flexiblen Emotionsregulation als eine psychologische Grundlage von Achtsamkeit und Selbstmitgefühl. Hierbei sollen insbesondere verschiedene theoretische Modelle emotionsregulatorischer Flexibilität kontrastiert sowie deren bisherige Integration in die klinische Forschung diskutiert werden. Im zweiten Teil leiten wir aus der bisherigen Literatur ab, welche Implikationen ein Verständnis flexibler Emotionsregulation für die klinische Praxis hat. Dabei werden wir insbesondere auf die Bedeutung emotionsregulatorischer Flexibilität für die sogenannte „dritte Welle“ der kognitiven Verhaltenstherapie eingehen sowie Bezüge zu Konzepten der Achtsamkeit und des Selbstmitgefühls herstellen.
