Zusammenfassung

Die vorangegangenen Kapitel zeigen auf, welche positiven gesundheitlichen Effekte durch regelmäßige sportliche Betätigungen zu erzielen sind. Ausdauerbetonte Aktivitäten wirken besonders gesundheitsfördernd und lebensverlängernd (Schnohr et al. 2013, 2015; Gebel et al. 2015; Mok et al. 2019; Stamatakis et al. 2019). Größere sportliche Leistungen erhöhen dabei den Gesundheitseffekt (Kap. 56). Das bestätigen auch die Ergebnisse einer großen Studie mit 661.137 Personen (Arem et al. 2015a). Dauerhaft extreme Anstrengungen sind aber zu vermeiden.
