Zusammenfassung

Untersuchungen für die präklinische Notfallversorgung in Deutschland zeigen, dass suizidale Patienten mit 25–30 % unter den psychiatrischen Notfällen im Notarztdienst eine große Rolle spielen (Pajonk et al. 2001, 2002, 2008). Pajonk et al. (2002) berichten, dass Notärzte überwiegend zu Suizidversuchen von jungen Männern gerufen werden. Die häufigsten Methoden bei Suizidversuchen, die vom Notarztdienst versorgt werden, sind Intoxikationen mit Medikamenten und illegalen Drogen (Pajonk et al. 2002). Oftmals werden allerdings Häufigkeit und Relevanz eines Suizidversuchs vom Personal der Notaufnahmen unterschätzt. Zudem verbleibt Suizidalität oft unentdeckt und unbehandelt (Suokas und Lönnqvist 1989; Claassen und Larkin 2005).
