Vor 5 Jahren wurden die Leitlinien 2000 „Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and Emergency Cardiovascular Care (ECC)“ veröffentlicht [1]. Das European Resuscitation Council (ERC) veröffentlichte auf der Basis dieses Dokuments im Jahre 2001 eine Artikelreihe mit eigenen Reanimationsleitlinien [2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7]. Die Wissenschaft der Reanimation entwickelt sich jedoch ständig weiter, sodass klinische Leitlinien regelmäßig überarbeitet werden müssen, um dieser Entwicklung Rechnung zu tragen und den Anwender das optimale praktische Vorgehen anzuraten. Zwischen den etwa alle 5 Jahre erfolgenden umfangreichen Überarbeitungen der Leitlinien, können zwischenzeitliche „Advisory Statements“ die professionellen Anwender über neue Therapien informieren, die u. U. das Outcome signifikant beeinflussen können [8]. Wir gehen davon aus, dass auch in Zukunft solche „Advisory Statements“ als Reaktion auf wichtige Forschungsergebnisse veröffentlicht werden. …
