Zusammenfassung

Eine zerebrale Ischämie ist die Ursache von mehr als 80 % aller Schlaganfälle, wobei das Stromgebiet der A. carotis dabei am häufigsten betroffen ist. Ziel aller operativen Eingriffe an der A. carotis ist die Herstellung einer adäquaten zerebralen Perfusion. Die anästhesiologisch relevanten chirurgischen Besonderheiten sowie deren Management werden in diesem Kapitel erörtert.
