Zusammenfassung

Die bisher bekannten physiologischen Grundlagen machen einen positiven Einfluss des Ausdauertrainings auf die Risikosenkung von Tumorerkrankungen wahrscheinlich. Dafür sprechen z. B. die unter gemäßigten körperlichen Belastungen vermehrte Mobilisierung der natürlichen Killerzellen mit einer damit verbundenen höheren zytotoxischen Gesamtkapazität wie auch die unter diesen Bedingungen verbesserte Phagozytosefähigkeit der Granulozyten (Kap. 71). Dadurch können die in unserem Körper ständig entartenden Zellen vom Immunsystem leichter beseitigt werden.
