10. Risikomanagement

Zusammenfassung

Daten über Häufigkeit, Ursachen und Folgen unerwünschter Ereignisse in der Physiotherapie liegen nicht vor. Eine Literaturrecherche im Hinblick auf Risiken in der Elektrotherapie zeigt, dass tatsächlich bei vielen Anwendungen ernste Schädigungen an Patienten auftreten können, siehe dazu die Anmerkungen zu Risiken und Nebenwirkungen bei den verschiedenen Anwendungen. Es handelt sich bei den wenigen Publikationen vor allem um Fallbeschreibungen, wobei die Ursachen und Folgen der Schädigungen lediglich in zwei Fällen weiter analysiert wurden (Frye JL, Johns LD, Tom JA, Ingersoll CD (2007) Blisters on the anterior shin in 3 research subjects after a 1-MHz, 1.5W/cm2, continuous ultrasound treatment: a case series. Phys Med Biol 48:2919–2928). Die im Nachfolgenden geschilderte Lage zeigt die Notwendigkeit der Einführung eines Risikomanagements in der Physiotherapie. Dies kann in einem Krankenhaus oder in einer Praxis ohne großen Aufwand mit wenigen Personen unter der Führung eines dazu ausgebildeten Kollegen in relativ kurzer Zeit geschehen. Man kann die Ergebnisse einer solchen Arbeit in einer Fachzeitschrift publizieren und damit Kollegen die Ziele und die Hintergründe eines Risikomanagements näherbringen. Darüber hinaus soll die Demonstration der Machbarkeit eines solchen Projektes Therapeuten dazu anregen, sich näher mit den Risiken unseres Berufes auseinanderzusetzen.
