74. Planetary Health – Gesundheit und Krankheit im Kontext von Klima und Umwelt

Zusammenfassung

Die Klima- und Umweltkrise geht bereits heute weltweit mit dramatischen gesundheitlichen Auswirkungen einher und ist damit die wichtigste Gesundheitskrise unserer Zeit. Vor diesem Hintergrund bietet Planetary Health als umfassendes Gesundheitskonzept einen konzeptuellen Rahmen, der die strukturierte Analyse der Gesundheitskrise und die Identifikation sowie Umsetzung transformativer Veränderungsprozesse in Richtung Nachhaltigkeit erleichtert. Im vorliegenden Kapitel geben wir einen Überblick über Planetary Health, fassen grundlegende Aspekte der Klima- und Umweltkrise zusammen und beleuchten ihre Auswirkungen auf die menschliche Gesundheit. Anschließend skizzieren wir soziale Dimensionen der Klima- und Umweltkrise sowie Win-Win-Lösungen, durch die sowohl Klima- und Umweltschutz als auch Gesundheitsschutz erreicht werden können. Abschließend beschreiben wir das Potenzial von Fachkräften des Gesundheitswesens, integrierten Klima-, Umwelt- und Gesundheitsschutz voranzutreiben.
