13. Evidenz zur Funktionellen Elektrostimulation

Zusammenfassung

Dieses Kapitel gibt einen komprimierten Überblick über relevante und interessante Evidenz zur Funktionellen Elektrostimulation (FES) inklusive der EMG-getriggerten Elektrostimulation (EMG-FES) in der Neurorehabilitation bei Patienten mit den Störungsbildern Schlaganfall, multiple Sklerose, Neuropädiatrie, Tetraplegie bei zervikalem Querschnittsyndrom oder der Schädigung des peripheren Nervs bzw. des „lower motor neuron“ (LMN) mit Denervation. Hierfür werden neben randomisierten, kontrollierten Studien (RCT) Reviews mit Metaanalysen und Leitlinien zitiert und praxisrelevant erklärt. Die vorliegende Literatur rechtfertigt den Einsatz der FES bei vielen neurologischen Symptomen sowohl in der Früh- als auch in der chronischen Phase.
