Zusammenfassung

Der Beitrag gibt einen Überblick über den internationalen Vergleich von Gesundheitssystemen. Nach einer Einführung in den Terminus Gesundheitssystem werden zwei Perspektiven des Systemvergleichs vorgestellt: der Vergleich politischer Akteure und Institutionen des Gesundheitssystems und der Vergleich von Systemcharakteristika in den Bereichen Finanzierung, Regulierung und Leistungserbringung. Ausgewählte Gesundheitssystemtypologien aus beiden Perspektiven werden vorgestellt und systematisch verglichen. Der Beitrag zeigt darüber hinaus auf, welchen wissenschaftlichen Beitrag Gesundheitssystemtypologien leisten können und welche Theorien, Daten und Methoden ihnen zugrunde liegen.
