Definition

The data presented here are taken from a university-based research project aiming at exploring the difference between successful and less successful secondary schools on the basis of a diverse range of objective and subjective indicators in the county (Wilaya) of Oran, Algeria. One of the main subjective measures was Personal Well-being Index (PWI). This entry tests the usefulness of PWI in a school setting of a developing country in comparison with its use in the general population in the same context. The background of the research is briefly introduced, and then psychometric properties and results of PWI are described, to end with a discussion of the findings.
