Zusammenfassung

Zur Vermeidung einer Hypothermie bei Notfallpatienten stehen im Rahmen der Erstversorgung Rettungsdecken zur Verfügung. Es handelt sich dabei um eine dünne, reißfeste, wasserdichte Polyesterfolie mit einer Aluminiumbedampfung. Durch eine Lackierung oder Einfärbung der anderen Seite wird eine bessere Sichtbarkeit gewährleistet. Die silberfarbene Aluminiumbedampfung ist in der Lage, durch Reflexion der Körperwärme zu einer Prophylaxe einer Hypothermie beizutragen. Zusätzlich kann einer Konvektion durch den Aufbau eines Luftpolsters zwischen Körperoberfläche und Decke entgegengewirkt werden. Zum Kälteschutz sollte die Silberseite nach innen gerichtet sein und nicht direkt am unbekleideten Körper anliegen.

Abstract

The first-aid blanket is available for paramedical personnel to avoid hypothermia in accident victims. It consists of a thin, tear-resistant, water-proof polyester foil with an aluminum coating. Painting or colouring of the other side helps to improve its visibility. The silver-coloured aluminium coating contributes to a prophylaxis against hypothermia by reflection of body heat. In addition convection between the patient’s body surfaces and the blanket can be countered by creation of an air cushion. For protextion against cold the silver side should be on the inside but must not lie directly on the naked body.
