Zusammenfassung
Gestörte Bewusstseinszustände sind Ausdruck einer unterschiedlich stark beeinträchtigten Hirnfunktion und treten im Rahmen verschiedener intra- und extrakranieller Erkrankungen auf. Eine schnelle Diagnostik und zielgerichtete Therapie ist essenziell, da sonst irreversible Schäden des zentralen Nervensystems drohen.
