Zusammenfassung

Im vorliegenden Kapitel wird das aus östlichen Meditationstraditionen stammende Achtsamkeitsprinzip vorgestellt, das im Rahmen von achtsamkeitsbasierten Verfahren besonders in den vergangenen Jahren großes Interesse erfuhr und verstärkt auch in das verhaltenstherapeutische Vorgehen integriert wurde. Ausgehend von einer Definition werden verschiedene Achtsamkeitsverfahren unterschieden. Nach einer Darstellung der praktischen Voraussetzungen aufseiten des Achtsamkeitsübenden und aufseiten der Therapeuten wird das konkrete Vorgehen anhand formeller und informeller Übungen näher erläutert und Beispiele für konkrete Instruktionen gegeben. Daran anschließend wird diskutiert, bei welchen Patientengruppen achtsamkeitsbasierte Verfahren eine sinnvolle Ergänzung zur gewohnten therapeutischen Intervention darstellen und bei welchen Patienten ein Einsatz vorher genauer geprüft werden sollte. Abschließend werden Ergebnisse zur Wirksamkeit von MBSR und MBCT vorgestellt und ein Ausblick bezüglich zukünftiger Forschungsbemühungen gegeben.
