Zusammenfassung

Unter „Hiatushernie“ versteht man die Verlagerung von Kardia und/oder oberen Magenabschnitten und evtl. benachbarter Strukturen durch den Hiatus oesophageus vom Bauchraum in das Mediastinum, entsprechend dem physiologischen abdominothorakalen Druckgefälle. Hiatushernien zählen zu den häufigsten Veränderungen im oberen Gastrointestinaltrakt (Ilves 1998).
