Zusammenfassung

Die äußere Körperoberfläche wird von Haut, Cutis, Integument, die innere von Schleimhäuten bedeckt. An den Körperöffnungen (Lippen, Nasenlöcher, Augenlider, Harnröhrenmündung, After) geht die Haut kontinuierlich in Schleimhaut über. Im folgenden ist nur von der (äußeren) Haut die Rede. Ihre Oberfläche beträgt in Abhängigkeit von der Körpergröße 1,5–1,8 m2, ihr Gewicht etwa 3 kg (mit Subkutis 11–15 kg).
