Zusammenfassung
Der Begriff Lebensqualität bezeichnet den von den Patienten erlebten Gesundheitszustand in körperlicher, psychischer, sozialer, mentaler und funktionaler Hinsicht. Eine Erfassung der Lebensqualität in der Medizin ist sinnvoll, um die Effekte von Diagnose und Behandlung auch aus Sicht der Patientinnen und Patienten sichtbar zu machen. Als Indikator des Behandlungserfolgs ist die „gesundheitsbezogene Lebensqualität“ in der Medizin inzwischen akzeptiert. Aber auch in der Prävention und Rehabilitation sowie in der Epidemiologie und Gesundheitsökonomie gewinnt Lebensqualität an Bedeutung. Zur Erfassung der Lebensqualität existiert eine Reihe von psychometrisch geprüften, standardisierten Messinstrumenten (Fragebögen), die in der Epidemiologie, in der Therapieevaluation, der Gesundheitsökonomie und in der Qualitätssicherung eingesetzt werden. Der vorliegende Beitrag gibt einen Überblick über die Lebensqualitätsforschung unter konzeptuellen, methodischen und anwendungsbezogenen Gesichtspunkten.
