Die Sectio caesarea in Hessen

Zusammenfassung

In den lateinamerikanischen Staaten liegen die Sectioraten über 50%, was die Frage aufwirft, ob die in den letzen Jahren zunehmende Inzidenz gerechtfertigt ist. Auch in Deutschland steigt die Kaiserschnittrate ständig. Aus ärztlicher Sicht spielt die Furcht vor Komplikationen mit Schädigung des Kindes und deren zivil- und strafrechtliche Bedeutung eine Rolle, aus mütterlicher Sicht die Angst um das eigene Wohl und das Wohl des Kindes. Auch das Thema “Wunschsectio” wird in letzter Zeit zunehmend diskutiert. Aus diesem Grund wurde das Thema “Sectio-Indikation – Wunsch-Sectio” im Rahmen der hessischen Perinatalerhebung für die Jahre 1990 bis 1999 abgehandelt.

Abstract

In Latin America the rate of Caesarean section is over 50%, raising the question of whether the recent increase in the rate is justified. In Germany, too, the rate has been steadily rising. Physicians fear complications endangering the child and possibly leading to civil and criminal proceedings; mothers want the best for themselves and their children. Elective Caesarean section has increasingly become a subject of debate. This article discusses the indications for Caesarean section and elective Caesarean section against the background of the Hessian Perinatal Survey for the period 1990–1999.
