This article describes the development of a service for patients with lung cancer receiving oral chemotherapy. The aim was to improve patients’ experience of their care and their quality of life by reducing hospital visits. Additional service benefits have been a reduction in new patient waiting times and opportunities for training, role development and greater autonomy for nursing staff.
