Zusammenfassung
Auch wenn zahlreiche Führungsforscher lange Zeit davon ausgegangen sind, dass Führung eine objektive Gegebenheit ist, die jederzeit beobachtet und vermessen werden kann, ist sie das nicht oder nicht nur. Die in diesem Kapitel zu analysierenden Führungsansätze besagen, dass Führung häufig eine soziale Konstruktion ist, erstellt durch Führungskräfte selbst, ihre Mitarbeiter oder durch mehr oder weniger entrückte Beobachter, wie Publizisten, Journalisten, nicht zuletzt auch durch Führungsforscher. Es handelt sich um den Ansatz der Führungsmythen einerseits und das Konzept der Romantik der Führung andererseits. Beide Ansätze gehen von der sozialen Konstruiertheit jeglicher Führungsvorstellungen aus und hinterfragen damit ihre Selbstverständlichkeit, indem sie die häufig impliziten Annahmen über Führung explizit machen und diese auf ihren Plausibilitätsgehalt hin überprüfen. Im Unterschied zu den anderen Buchkapiteln handelt es sich hier um Ansätze, die nicht die Führung adressieren, sondern die Frage beantworten, wie über die Führung gedacht, geschrieben und gesprochen wird.
