Zusammenfassung

Als Folge des demographischen Wandels wird im Jahr 2050 die Bevölkerungszahl in Deutschland von heute 82 Millionen auf knapp 69 Millionen schwinden. Dabei wird sich die Relation zwischen Jung und Alt stark verändern und eine Veränderung der Haushaltstrukturen (Eisenmenger et al. 2006) bewirken. So sind vor allem Menschen, die älter als 50 Jahre sind von Änderungen in familiären Strukturen betroffen, die zu meist auf den Wegzug oder Tod von Familie, Freunden oder Verwandten, sinkende Geburten, sowie steigende Scheidungsraten zurückzuführen sind. Um jedoch die Gesellschaft angesichts des demographischen Wandels zukunftsfähig zu gestalten, müssen die Bindungen zwischen den Generationen erhalten und gestärkt werden. Dafür müssen neue Formen des Zusammenlebens zwischen Alten und Jungen, sowie unterschiedlichen sozialen und ethnischen Gruppen erprobt werden.
