Zusammenfassung
Spiritualität sollte als Teil der Gesundheitsversorgung betrachtet werden. Sie ist beziehungsorientiert und betrifft alle Berufsgruppen im Bereich der Palliative Care als Disziplin, in der die körperliche, psychosoziale und spirituelle Dimension von Bedeutung ist. Studien zeigen, dass die Mehrheit der Patienten spirituelle Bedürfnisse ansprechen möchte. In der Praxis existieren hierzu das Spirituelle Interview (SPIR) sowie die Fragen: „Sind Sie mit sich im Frieden?“ (im englischen Original: „Are you at peace?“) oder: „Gibt es etwas, das Ihnen heilig ist?“. Spiritualität kann auch als (An-)Teilnahme am Leben der Patienten wahrgenommen werden. Spirituelle Fürsorge kann zu Trost und Linderung beitragen.
