Zusammenfassung

Die augmentierenden (= unterstützenden/verstärkenden) Beatmungsformen reichen von einer minimalen Druckunterstützung der Spontanatmung (z. B. PSV) bis hin zu mandatorischen volumenunterstützenden Formen (z. B. MMV). Sie eignen sich in absteigender Invasivität auch gut für die Entwöhnung. Mittlerweile existieren zahllose Herstellerbezeichnungen und Mischformen, wobei zumeist keine Überlegenheit des einen oder anderen Modus gezeigt werden konnte.
