Zusammenfassung
Sowohl Rippen- als auch Sternumfrakturen sind sonographisch gut darstellbar. Die sonographische Frakturdiagnostik ist nicht nur deutlich sensitiver als das konventionelle Röntgenbild, darüber hinaus lassen sich auch begleitende Weichteilläsionen, Hämatome und Pleuraergüsse sicher und rasch bildgebend erfassen.
Die Darstellung von Lymphknoten und eine vorsichtige Dignitätsbeurteilung sind eine wichtige Indikation zur Brustwandsonographie. Bei therapeutischer Konsequenz sind alle unklaren Läsionen im Brustwandbereich einer sonographisch gezielten Punktion für eine histologische Diagnosesicherung gut zugänglich. Das Punktionsrisiko ist aufgrund der günstigen Lokalisation sehr gering. Bei nachgewiesener Malignität sind Brustwandläsionen dann unter einer Therapie für Verlaufskontrollen geeignet.
