Zusammenfassung

Der in ► Kap. 14 beschriebene, weitverzweigte Stoffwechsel der Glucose unterliegt einer komplizierten Regulation. Diese setzt bereits auf der Stufe der Glucoseaufnahme in die Zellen ein. Die Konzentration an Glucose-6-Phosphat, als dem zentralen Ausgangspunkt des Glucosestoffwechsels, wird vielfältig kontrolliert. Die Regulation von Glycolyse und Gluconeogenese erfolgt hormonell wie allosterisch. Vor allem Proteinkinasen und Proteinphosphatasen koordinieren die Auffüllung und die Mobilisierung der zellulären Glycogenvorräte mit dem Energiebedarf von Zellen und Gewebe.
