Er sah auf das Display seines Diensttelefons. „IMC-Pflege“, las er und dachte „Das hat mir gerade noch gefehlt!“ Dr. Vonandi hatte heute Hausdienst und war auch für die 6 IMC-Betten zuständig. Er liebte Intensivmedizin, aber die IMC hatte für ihn wenig mit Intensivmedizin zu tun, sondern entsprach eher einem Aufwachraum der Anästhesie. „Wahrscheinlich wieder ein akutgeriatrischer Notfall“, dachte er, denn der typische IMC-Patient war 90 Jahre alt, hatte eine Schenkelhalsfraktur und war im Delir. In diesem Kapitel geht es um IMC, Postaggressionsstoffwechsel, Tokolyse, nichtinvasive Beatmung, ARDS, Ultraschall, dilatative Kardiomyopathie, postoperative Ernährung, Lungenödem, die Starling-Gleichung sowie das Bauchgefühl.
