Zusammenfassung
Die glatte Muskulatur ist Bestandteil der Wände der Blut- und Lymphgefäße, der Atemwege und der inneren Hohlorgane. Auch die inneren Augenmuskeln gehören zur glatten Muskulatur. In den verschiedenen Organsystemen muss die glatte Muskulatur sehr unterschiedliche mechanische Aufgaben übernehmen. In der glatten Muskulatur, der das Regulatorprotein Troponin fehlt, wird die Querbrückentätigkeit durch die Ca2+-vermittelte Übertragung einer Phosphatgruppe von ATP auf die regulatorischen leichten Ketten des Myosinmoleküls aktiviert. Die glatte Muskulatur relaxiert, wenn die Ca2+-Konzentration im Zytoplasma wieder sinkt und die Phosphatgruppe von den regulatorischen leichten Ketten abgespalten wird.
