Zusammenfassung
Eine qualitativ und quantitativ adäquate Ernährung in den ersten Lebenswochen hat nicht nur eine kurzfristige Bedeutung, sondern wirkt sich wahrscheinlich auf das gesamte weitere Leben aus. Dieses Kapitel beschreibt den enteralen Nahrungsaufbau bei Frühgeborenen, wobei besonders auf die Bedeutung von Muttermilch eingegangen wird. Außerdem werden die Prinzipien der parenteralen Ernährung bei Neugeborenen dargestellt.
