Zusammenfassung

Histopathologische und zytologische Befunde können in der multidisziplinären Diagnostik seltener Lungenerkrankungen wichtige Informationen liefern. Bei der Beurteilung ist gemäß der allgemeinen Pathologie zu entscheiden, ob und welche pathologischen Läsionen an den Strukturen der Lunge vorliegen und wie diese verteilt sind. Auch auf das Vorkommen von Fremdmaterial oder Erregerstrukturen ist zu achten. Dem Pathologen sollten dabei relevante Informationen über die Anamnese, Klinik, Laborbefunde, Lungenfunktion und Bildgebung bekannt sein. Welche Verfahren zur Gewinnung von Material für die zytologische und die histologische Diagnostik zur Verfügung stehen und sinnvoll sind, wird im Folgenden beschrieben.
