Zusammenfassung
Durch den Mangel an evidenzbasierter Praxis erscheint die Neurorehabilitation als eine „Blackbox“, die kaum Einblicke in ihre wirksamen Bestandteile ermöglicht. Um die Effektivität und Effizienz eines therapeutischen Ansatzes erforschen zu können, müssen jedoch dessen Inhalte und Prozesse bestimmt werden. Der vorliegende F.O.T.T.-Algorithmus verfolgt mehrere Ziele: Er soll als Leitfaden zur Untersuchung und Behandlung dienen und sowohl erfahrene als auch unerfahrene Therapeuten durch klinische Entscheidungsprozesse in der Untersuchung und Behandlung von Menschen mit Problemen des facio-oralen Trakts nach erworbener Hirnschädigung leiten Darüber hinaus gibt der Algorithmus im Manual einen Überblick und eine Beschreibung über eine Vielzahl therapeutischer Interventionen, die in der Untersuchung und Behandlung von Menschen mit Problemen des faciooralen Trakts mittels der F.O.T.T. in Deutschland, der Schweiz, England und in Skandinavien angewendet werden.
