Zusammenfassung
Die Korrespondenzanalyse ist ein Verfahren zur Visualisierung von Datentabellen, insbesondere von Tabellen mit Häufigkeiten qualitativer Merkmale. Sie dient damit der Vereinfachung und Veranschaulichung komplexer Sachverhalte. Die Häufigkeiten qualitativer Merkmale, man spricht hier auch von qualitativen Daten, werden oft in Form einer Kreuztabelle angeordnet, nämlich wenn man die gemeinsamen Häufigkeiten für zwei Gruppen von Merkmalen bzw. Merkmalskategorien vorliegen hat und etwas über deren Zusammenhänge herausfinden möchte (vgl. Abbildung 7.1).
