Zusammenfassung

Der unwillkürliche Urinverlust (Harninkontinenz), gleich welcher Ursache, ist für die Betroffene gleichbedeutend mit einem Verlust an Lebensqualität. Die Dunkelziffer der nicht diagnostizierten und behandelten Fälle ist sicherlich sehr hoch, da der Gang zum Haus- bzw. Facharzt bei vielen Patientinnen und Patienten herausgezögert oder sogar vollständig vermieden wird. Aus diesem Grund ist es außerordentlich wichtig, die Anamnese und Diagnostik strukturiert zu gestalten, um den Patientinnen und Patienten unnötige Untersuchungen und frustrane Therapieversuche zu ersparen.

Eine vollständige und einfühlsame Anamnese, eine gründliche körperliche Befunderhebung, nicht invasive diagnostische Maßnahmen (Miktionsprotokoll, Inkontinenzfragebögen) sowie apparative Untersuchungsmethoden (Urodynamik, Zystoskopie, Ultraschall etc.) liefern dem Untersucher und behandelnden Arzt die nötigen Informationen zur Diagnosefindung und Einleitung einer suffizienten Therapie.
