Zusammenfassung
Grundlage für ein optimiertes Komplikationsmanagement in der Chirurgie ist eine kollegiale professionelle Zusammenarbeit zwischen ärztlichem operativem und nichtoperativem und nichtärztlichem Personal. Dem in der inneren Medizin verankerten Teilgebiet Kardiologie kommt bei der Beurteilung des perioperativen Risikos und der Prävention von Komplikationen in der Chirurgie eine besondere Bedeutung zu. Nach aktuellen Schätzungen leiden 30% der Patienten, die sich einem größeren chirurgischen Eingriff unterziehen müssen, an einer kardiovaskulären Erkrankung. Etwa 42% aller chirurgischen Komplikationen nach nicht-kardialen Operationen gehen auf kardiovaskuläre Komplikationen zurück.
