Zusammenfassung
Chirurgische Eingriffe im Bereich der Schilddrüse sind weit verbreitet und stellen eine häufig durchgeführte Operation dar. Gerade aufgrund dieser Tatsache ist es wichtig, auf die möglichen Komplikationen, die teilweise bei Auftreten eine hohe und längerfristige Leidensqualität für den Patienten bedeuten, einzugehen. Eine interdisziplinäre Herangehensweise mit sorgfältiger Vorbereitung einschließlich einer wohlbedachten Indikationsstellung sind Voraussetzungen für eine qualitativ hochstehende und komplikationsarme Schilddrüsenchirurgie. Postoperative Kontrollen zum frühzeitigen Erkennen etwaiger Komplikationen und damit die Möglichkeit der optimalen und rechtzeitigen Therapie sollten ebenso wie die eigentliche Operation Bestandteil der Patientenbehandlung sein.
