Zusammenfassung
Stürze sind im Alter relativ häufig und nicht selten Anlass für die Aufnahme in unfallchirurgischen oder geriatrischen Kliniken [8]. Ein Drittel der zuhause lebenden über 65-Jährigen stürzt einmal pro Jahr, unter den über 80-Jährigen sind es bereits 50% [15], bei Pflegeheimbewohnern liegt die Rate noch höher [2]. Im Gegensatz zu jungen Erwachsenen ist nur selten eine starke äußere Gewalteinwirkung Ursache für den Sturz.
