Zusammenfassung

Eine routinemäßige Drainage nach operativen Eingriffen im Bauchraum ist unnötig. Drains sollen selektiv und gezielt eingesetzt werden. Indikationen dafür sind postoperativ zu erwartende Blut- und Flüssigkeitsansammlungen aus größeren Ablöseflächen und Risikoanastomosen (z. B. an Ösophagus, Pankreas, Rektum). Intraperitoneal gelegene — risikoarme — gastrointestinale Anastomosen benötigen in der Regel keinerlei postoperative Drainagen.
