Zusammenfassung

Der gesellschaftliche Anspruch auf risikoarme und exakt planbare Abläufe in der täglichen Spitalroutine wächst und verstärkt damit die Gewichtung der präoperativen Risikoabschätzung mit dem Ziel, die für den vorgesehenen Eingriff relevanten Begleiterkrankungen mit vernünftigem Aufwand zu erkennen und, falls möglich, den Gesundheitszustand des Patienten vor dem Krankenhauseintritt zu verbessern. Eine optimale perioperative Betreuung verbessert den Outcome und Langzeitverlauf des Patienten. Durch das ansteigende Patientenalter und der damit verbundenen Zunahme bedeutender Begleiterkrankungen können auch einfache viszerale Eingriffe ausgedehnte präoperative Vorbereitungen erforderlich machen. Es muss eine möglichst frühe präoperative Besprechung mit allen beteiligten Spezialisten stattfinden (Chirurgen, Anästhesisten, Gastroenterologen und Hausärzte).
