Zusammenfassung

Die Bestimmung der hypophysären Gonadotropine im Harn erfolgte bisher meist als „Gesamtgonadotropine“ (FSH + LH) ohne Trennung in einzelne Aktivitäten nach Fällen mit Alkohol und Adsorption an Kaolin im Mäuseuterustest. Maß für die biologische Gonadotropinwirkung ist die Gewichtszunahme des Uterus (über eine Stimulierung der Ovarien) nach sc. Injektion von 0,5 ml des Extrakts bei juvenilen Mäusen an drei aufeinanderfolgenden Tagen. Der Test ist unspezifisch, aber ziemlich empfindlich. Manche Autoren benutzten den Ovarialgewichtstest. Die biologische Messung muß nach statistischen Gesichtspunkten als 4 Punkte Parallelversuch gegen einen internationalen Standard durchgeführt werden (s. Internationale Standards für gonadotrope Hormone).
