Zusammenfassung
In der Soziologie von Gesundheit und Krankheit wird der größte Teil der Daten durch verschiedene Arten der Befragung gewonnen; für die Untersuchung spezifischer Erkrankungen werden zusätzlich andere Datenquellen verwendet. Forschung, die mit quantifizierenden Methoden arbeitet, ist darauf abgestellt zu zählen, zu messen und zu klassifizieren. Dabei werden Daten nach einheitlichen Standards und Schemata erhoben, um Vergleichbarkeit herzustellen und um statistische Verfahren anwenden zu können.
