Zusammenfassung

Der Beitrag vermittelt Grundlagen zur politikwissenschaftlichen Betrachtung von Migrationspolitik. Nach einem Definitionsversuch werden die Verbindung von Migration und Nationalstaat sowie die Frage nach der Eigenständigkeit des Politikfelds thematisiert. Anschließend werden fünf Grundprobleme der Migrationspolitik betrachtet: Migrationspolitik als Spannungsfeld per se, Migrationspolitik vor dem Hintergrund der Realität von Mixed Migration, das Verhältnis von Migrationspolitik und Bevölkerungsmeinung, Migrationspolitik als Mehrebenenpolitik sowie die Organisation von Migrationspolitik unter Beteiligung verschiedener Ressorts. Hintergrund für die Erläuterungen bildet Deutschland, wobei auch internationale Entwicklungen einbezogen werden.
