Partizipation ist als Begriff in den Debatten der Sozialarbeit und Sozialpädagogik als Vorläufern der Sozialen Arbeit nicht zu finden. Nicht den Begriff der Partizipation benutzend, sondern Vorstellungen wie Teilhabe oder Teilnahme verfolgend finden sich im Segment der Sozialpädagogik Teil-Äquivalente: Das wurde im vorigen Kapitel für Pestalozzi und Natorp nachgezeichnet.
