Zusammenfassung

Angesichts der Häufigkeit von Alkoholproblemen wird der Arzt relativ oft mit einem Alkoholentzugssyndrom (AES) konfrontiert. Wenn er sich dann über die beste Therapie informieren will, muß er sich bei einem Spektrum von mehr als 100 (Naranjo u. Sellers 1986) veröffentlichten, z.T. sehr unterschiedlichen und widersprüchlichen Medikamentenschemata wenig gut beraten, ja verunsichert fühlen. Geht man dieser verwirrenden Situation weiter nach, stößt man bald auf Sachverhalte der Psychopathometrie (Tretter 1991). Man wird sich nämlich fragen, unter welchen Bedingungen die Einschätzung entstand, daß so viele verschiedene Substanzen effektiv auf ein Zielsyndrom, das AES, einwirken können.
