Die Prostata entsteht entwicklungsgeschichtlich an der Mündungsstelle der Wolffund Müller-Gänge im proximalen Sinus urogenitalis und wird durch eine androgengesteuerte epitheliomesenchymale Interaktion in mehereren Entwicklungsschritten realisiert.
