Zusammenfassung

Seit Einführung des partiellen intraprostatischen Katheters nach Fabian [l], Anfang der 8oer Jahre, fanden unterschiedliche intraprostatische Implantate zur Behandlung der BPH ihre Anwendung. Das gemeinsame Prinzip dieser Implantate besteht darin, daß sie eine Platzhalterfunktion erfüllen. Die intraprostatischen Stents drängen das Prostatagewebe auseinander und ermöglichen damit den Durchfluß des Urins durch das Lumen des Implantates. In den letzten Jahren ist eine Vielzahl unterschiedlicher intraprostatischer Implantate entwickelt worden, die sich aufgrund ihrer Konfiguration und Materialbeschaffenheiten deutlich voneinander unterscheiden. An dem Grundprinzip der Platzhalterfunktion haben diese unterschiedlichen Stentkonfigurationen jedoch nichts geändert.
