Zusammenfassung
Kontrolliertes Zuwarten (watchful waiting, WW) ist eine Strategie, bei der der Arzt den Patienten ohne aktive Therapie beobachtet. WW ist zwar die häufigste Behandlungsstrategie für Patienten mit leichten bis mäßigen Beschwerden, es ist aber wenig über WW als mögliche Therapieform bekannt. Das gleiche gilt für das Placebophänomen nach vorgetäuschter Behandlung, wobei u. E. ein differenter Wirkmechanismus vorliegt.
