Zusammenfassung

Bei älteren Menschen ergeben sich zahlreiche interagierende Probleme. Diese haben ihre Ursache zum einen in dem langen Leben der Betreffenden und den dabei auftretenden Problemen und Vorteilen. Zum anderen liegt die Ursache bei den im Gesundheitsbereich Beschäftigten, deren Einstellungen und Überzeugungen oftmals limitierend für die Behandlungsoptionen bei älteren Menschen sind. In diesem Abschnitt wird auf 4 Problembereiche näher eingegangen, die die Diagnostik von Angst bei älteren Patienten beeinflussen und die von allen Personen, die in psychiatrischen Einrichtungen mit älteren Menschen arbeiten, zu berücksichtigen sind.
