Unter anorektaler Kontinenz und Defäkation versteht man die funktionell an komplizierte Strukturen und Mechanismen gebundene Fähigkeit, den Darminhalt reflektorisch und willkürlich zurückzuhalten und die Entleerung zu gewünschter Zeit durchzuführen.
