Das Kapitel beschreibt die operative Taktik, die Vorbereitung, Durchführung und Nachsorge bei chirurgischer Versorgung großflächiger Verbrennungen. Dabei wird auf die Besonderheit von Kindern, auf begrenzte Entnahmeflächen, wiederholte Operationen, Infekte, Verwendung von gezüchteter Haut und Verbandstechniken eingegangen.
