Zusammenfassung

Die Prognose Brandverletzter ist von einer Vielzahl von Faktoren abhängig. Neben Alter, Geschlecht und Nebenerkrankungen sind in erster Linie die Verbrennungstiefe und das Ausmaß (verbrannte Körperoberfläche, KOF in %) der thermischen Schädigung von entscheidender Bedeutung. Das Kapitel zeigt die Möglichkeiten zur Bestimmung der betroffenen Körperfläche auf. Hierbei werden unterschiedliche Bestimmungsverfahren erläutert. Neben der Erläuterung von Prognosescores geht das Kapitel auf das Patientenalter und die Temperatur bei Aufnahme sowie auf unterschiedliche Komorbiditäten im Hinblick auf die Überlebenswahrscheinlichkeit ein.
